Thai Airways CEO Removed from Post After Flood Disaster

The Thai Airways Board of Directors has removed CEO Chai Eamsiri from his position effective October 2, 2026, citing disruptions to the company’s operations following the floods in and around Bangkok. It was announced that Eamsiri will remain a member of the company’s board, while Samrit Samniang will serve as acting CEO.

Heavy rainfall and flooding prevented some employees from reaching their workplaces, leading to flight delays and cancellations as well as a buildup of passenger baggage at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. The Thai Airways Board of Directors has decided to launch an investigation into how the crisis was managed.
